Compute certified working heights, base-to-height stability ratios, outrigger requirements, and Safe Working Loads (SWL) for mobile aluminium scaffolding towers in real time.
Because platform height exceeds free-standing base ratio (3.5:1), four telescopic stabilizers must be fitted to expand effective base to ≥ 2.4 m.
Manufactured and verified in accordance with national and international working-at-height safety regulations.
Governs mobile access and working towers constructed from prefabricated aluminium components. Mandates structural stability, collective fall prevention, and load classifications.
Specifies requirements for steel and structural light-alloy scaffolding. Regulates extrusion purity, welding integrity, tube deflection under maximum load, and anchoring couplers.
Essential safety requirements prior to ascending any mobile aluminium scaffolding tower:
Platform height is the physical elevation where the deck planks rest. Working height is the standard safety engineering term for the comfortable reaching height of an average worker standing on the deck, calculated as platform height + 2.0 meters (6.5 feet).
Under EN 1004 regulations, outriggers become mandatory whenever the platform height exceeds 3 times the minimum base dimension outdoors, or 3.5 times indoors. For a single-width (0.8m) tower, outriggers must be attached once the platform exceeds ~2.4m outdoors or ~2.8m indoors.
According to EN 1004-1:2020 standards, the maximum free-standing platform height without structural wall ties is 8.0 meters outdoors (due to environmental wind pressure) and 12.0 meters indoors. Beyond these limits, towers must be securely tied to a rigid structural facade.
All Indoor Innovations aluminium scaffolding platforms are certified to EN 1004 Class 3, providing a distributed load rating of 200 kg/m² (2.0 kN/m²). A standard 1.8m × 0.8m platform supports up to 275 kg, while our 2.5m × 1.4m double-width platform deck supports up to 600 kg.
